Recently Google has been connected with the growing number of organizations who have decided to stop using Zoom because of security reasons of video-conferencing service.
This new restriction was emailed to Google employees having the Zoom desktop client installed on their incorporated laptops.The IT staff of Google has now disabled the application from working on the same computers.
“We are having a policy for a long time, that not to allow our employees to use unproved apps for working purposes which are not in our incorporated network,” Google spokesperson Jose Castaneda said. “Earlier, our security team has informed employees having Zoom Desktop Client that it will no longer works on corporate computers as they don’t meet our security standards for the apps used by our employees.”
The company didn’t mentioned any specific problem. But in the past few days, security researchers have revealed a number of accountabilities and suspectable working in Zoom’s video-conferencing service, which can expose users to hackers and spying.
Since, today due to corona virus pandemic this app has become the target of online demons and racists, who’ve been penetrating Zoom meetings for embarrassing and harassment of unsuspected users.
Google said that employees may use Zoom to talk to friends or family, but only through a web browser or mobile.
However, CEO of Zooms said that he’s committed to addressing the problems.The company has stopped working on new features to keep their focus on security and privacy over Zoom’s software for improving the trust of their users. Last week the company has announced for recruiting, Alex Stamos who is the former chief security officer at Facebook, To act as an advisor on this issue.
For their users, now Zoom has added a new “Security” button on the meeting controls command for making easier to help prevent unwanted guests from penetrating and disturbing users video sessions.
